The existence of autocorrect is truly a bothering for me, each time my fingers typing a word or text and the autocorrect thinks the word needs to be changed, and that's the time something bizarre or inappropriate appears. My word changed into some irrelevant words without my consent.
However this feature will be very handy for those who don't spell correctly, so each time they mistakenly type a word, this spelling autocorrection feature will attempt to automatically correct a typo.
But sometimes we don't see the need to use it -- for example in just a trivial chat with a friend -- the existence of autocorrection is truly pain in the head for example when we are typing messages on Skype, iMessage, or any other messaging apps which the words are typed a lot and simply we don't feel necessary to type accordingly. You know what I mean, don't you?
Well luckily we can disable autocorrect feature on OSX 10.9 and mostly on other versions too. It is time to turn that feature off, and put an end of our misery.
How to disable autocorrect feature (spelling autocorrection) on OS X Mavericks and Yosemite
- Now open Apple Menu > System Preferences.
- Now you have to click on Keyboard > Text and set the Autocorrect off by deselecting Correct spelling automatically.
Turn off Autocorrect feature only on certain apps.
To do so then you can set it from Application Edit Menu under Spelling and Grammar, then turn off Check Spelling While Typing.
