How To See Cydia tweak Dependencies (Depends and Conflicts)

In this post you will learn on how to see Cydia tweak dependencies (depend and conflict) before you install it. I have seen a considerable amount of comments and questions from iOS users asking how to view the dependencies of the tweak they are about to install.

If you wish to see the information, you can see the dependencies of a Cydia tweak you wish to purchase and / or install. Below are the steps.

In the terminal.
  1. Connect iPhone using SSH.
  2. Then go to / private / var / lib / apt / lists.
  3. Then find the source of a tweak is activated. For this example, we will use the BigBoss source. While for most sources, there normally has two files (a Release and Packages), BigBoss uses the following three;
    • apt.thebigboss.org_repofiles_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages.
    • apt.thebigboss.org_repofiles_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages.IndexDiff apt.
    • thebigboss.org_repofiles_cydia_dists_stable_Release
  4. Open the Packages file. For our example, this is the apt.thebigboss.org_repofiles_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages file
In overall the file would look like this.

Dependencies Cydia Tweak
The two interesting lines are; Depends and Conflicts. You can clearly see in what libraries it depends and with which it conflicts tweaks.
